A Bistro classic of caramelized onions, garlic and fresh tarragon with a warming splash of cognac, topped with cheese croutons and served with crusty bread

Matthew’s Chicken Liver Pâté
Infused with juniper berries, fresh herbs and cognac, served with a side salad and whole-wheat toasts and onion marmalade

Goats Cheese and Parma Ham Parcel
Chevre goats cheese enveloped in juicy Parma ham, pan fried till crispy, served on a baby leaf salad with a balsamic glaze and a seasonal chutney

Melon Platter
Ripe juicy melon served with prawns in a Marie Rosie sauce and slices of oak smoked salmon


Moules Mariniere
Juicy mussels cooked with shallots, garlic, white wine, cream and parsley served with crusty bread

Smoked Haddock Fishcake
A large smoked haddock fishcake served with homemade tartare sauce

Caesar Salad
Your choice of freshly grilled chicken breast or grilled Halloumi cheese (v) on a bed of mixed leaves, classic Caesar dressing, topped with fresh Parmesan shavings

Bretton Chicken
Chicken breast pan fried with smoked bacon and leeks then finished with white wine and cream served with potatoes and vegetables of the day

Chicken Stroganoff
Tender strips of chicken sautéed with shallots, garlic, mushrooms, mixed peppers and paprika, flamed in cognac and finished with a wholegrain mustard and cream sauce served with fragrant basmati rice


Beef Bourginon
The famous French recipe of tender steak with lardons of bacon, button onions, mushrooms and fresh herbs, slowly braised with lashings of red wine for a really rich gravy, served with pesto mash and braised spiced red cabbage

Goats Cheese and Mixed Vegetable Frittata
A rich baked omelette with sautéed seasonal vegetables, potatoes and creamy Chevre goats cheese served with a dressed mixed salad
